Hi We’re SAU
A cozy retreat nestled in Kaza, Spiti. Each cottage and dorm is inspired by a real Spiti village and decorated with local artifacts, so every stay tells its own story.
The snow leopard trail runs just past our property , keep an eye out for paw prints or a lucky glimpse of this elusive visitor.
Our farm-to-table meals are fresh, seasonal, and made with care, bringing the flavors of Spiti straight to your plate.
SAU is a place to slow down, explore, and soak in the mountains.
We’re here whenever you need us, day or night.
Discover the valley with local experts who know it best
Fresh, seasonal meals straight from our land to your table
Each one of our cottages is named after a Spiti village and tells its own story through handcrafted details, colors, and local artifacts. Step inside and feel the spirit of the mountains and villages come alive.
Simple, welcoming, and alive with stories. Wooden bunks, soft bedding, and fireside conversations that turn strangers into trekking partners.
Budget-friendly, but with the same views, food, and skies as our cottages.

Here dining is part of the journey. Every meal is fresh, seasonal, and straight from our valleys harvest, bringing the true flavors of Spiti to your table. Wake up to warm breakfasts that greet the morning light. Share hearty, traditional Spitian thalis at noon prepped with out traditional tandoor End your day with tea or a firelit dinner under the stars, as the mountains keep watch. Here, every bite is a story of the land, the people, and the rhythm of life.
Cozy, simple and soulful that’s how we dine at SAU.
Mornings often begin with traditional yoga, practised quietly in natural surroundings. Cultural experiences include momo-making workshops and small, informal wine tastings rooted in local produce and stories.
Guests are invited to plant a sapling as part of SAU’s ongoing nature-restoration effort, leaving behind something that grows long after the visit ends making each stay count and contribute to the land itself.
walk paths where the rarest resident still roams
Monasteries, fossil villages, sunrise ridges
Pottery in Komic, chai in Langza, stories in Kibber
Meet the artists whose work lives in our cottages
Yoga at dawn, meditation in silence, herbal teas
At SAU 🤍 we do things the way the mountains have always done them. Thick rammed mud walls hold warmth in winter and cool in summer. The sun powers what we need. Colours come from the soil around us, mixed by hand. Meals are slow-cooked in a tandoor and shared as evenings fall.
Spiti is far from world and that’s exactly why people love it here.
The journey takes time, but it’s part of the magic. Go slow, enjoy the views, and arrive feeling good.
